It's about time!

Admit it... you're only reading for the pics, but I thought I would catch you up on our little lives.

So it has been almost a month since I last blogged (admittely it is because we don't have the internet at our house nor cable. I can just feel some of you cringing! We may join the 21st century sometime next year).

A lot has happened! Pearson turned 3 months and his NeNe had a surprise 50th Birthday party. He went to the lake for the first time, and Lolly finally got to go again.

Our friends Scott and Laura visited.

MY HOUSE WAS CLEAN... as in spotless... thanks Mom! This doesn't happen that often!

Pearson made his first visit to Oxford, MS where he enjoyed watching me eat Ajax!

Pearson rolled from his back to his stomach... twice... he has tried thousands!

He has started sleeping almost through the night... waking only once! YEAH!!!! In fact on Monday night he slept from 9:30 until 5:30 and then went back to sleep until 7:30... What a refreshing feeling!

He has taken more bottles... mastering none... we're still working on that!

So here is the what you came for... pictures people... pictures!!!

Pearson loves sleeping on his daddy... this was before he loved sleeping through the night!

3 months and growing strong!

Here is a picture of the nursery. I know some people have not seen it.

Why do you constantly take my picture mom? (or why don't I share the ones I take on this blog...hahaha!)

All cozy in Oxford, MS!

Surprise NeNe!!! Happy Birthday!

The picture you have all been waiting for... The Mullet shot! Yes our child is a card carrying member of the mullet club. For more pics of the cutest mullet on earth log onto www.mullet.com (just kidding)!

Snow in Birmingham!

Pearson's first snow. I know our neighbors thought about calling DHR as we took pictures of Pearson in the snow. Sorry they aren't closer up.

The media can definitely create a frenzy. In Alabama news stations create excitement and chaos out of inclement weather. The Pig benefited as everyone ventured out to stock up on milk, canned goods, and other warm snacks to enjoy. Also hardware stores and sporting goods stores carrying sleds finally emptied the inventory!

Now I will take a shot at the national media and their desire to create frenzy in the hearts of Americans... they choose to continue to use the dreaded "R" word... as Darrell says, "stop saying it"... Recession! Yes! People we have had one month of decline and the media wants everyone to know we are in a Recession. On Sunday, Ben Stein said that it takes 6 solid months of a decline to become a true recession. So come June we may be in a recession, that means we will have to hear the "R" word for 6 more months. The power of the media!

I think the media will also have Hilary Clinton leading a civil rights march right into the White House just in time to stop the glaciers in Greenland from overflowing the earth!

"He slept well last night!"

This is a picture less post, which I am sure will not sit well with those of you who only read for the Pearson pics. You can skip my below rant!

"He slept well last night!" My favorite quote from my favorite person, my husband! Darrell is a sweet husband and wonderful dad. He tries to be so helpful, and is great at baths. He is also quite possibly the heaviest sleeper you'll ever sleep with (not that you would be sleeping with him.)

Every morning Darrell rolls over and says, "He slept well last night!" Now this is sometimes, but most always never true!

Sleeping... giving your baby the gift of sleep... I will gladly give it!

We mastered the art of the napping during the day. Or for those of you Baby Wise followers the "Eat, Wake, Sleep" pattern. Pearson can eat with the best of them (its all in his thighs). He can stay awake delightfully for a while, and then fights sleep like a champ!

So now his mom keeps her eyes open all the time! When will this little bundle of joy ever sleep through the night!

I love the comments from the mothers blessed with sleeping babies.

"Well my baby slept through the night at 4 weeks. I had him on a strict schedule it works. Just let him cry it out!" (Maybe she should sleep a night with Pearson's lungs)

Other comments... "Babies sleep once they are 12 pounds" (Well this 13 pounder isn't!)

"Oh she sleeps through the night from 10 to 4" (By the way she is only 3 weeks old :)

Can't fault them! They are just blessed.

One day, one glorious day or should I say NIGHT! I will get 6 uninterrupted hours of sleep. Then I will not need the extra makeup under my eyes to trick everyone into believing I am well rested.

My sweet friend gives me hope. Her baby slept at three months! In two weeks Pearson will be 12 weeks, which is three months, which is over the 12 pound threshold, and he will have been following Baby Wise... eat, wake, sleep for quite sometime!

My dreams called... they miss me!

10 Weeks and growing...

Pearson with his blue elephant in his cute little outfit and sweater. This is Pearson after church. He then went to his first and hopefully last bridal tea. Until he is the groom picking up the gifts. We definitely don't want him to make it a habit of attending such feminine events.

Pearson on his play gym. After avoiding love (code for licks... don't tell his grandmothers or his great grandmothers they will have a fit...hahaha) from Lolly, he was enjoying rolling from his stomach to his back. I wanted to make a video, but of course he stopped just when I started recording.

Pearson turns 10 weeks tomorrow! He is a large boy weighing in at 13 lbs and 4 oz. He goes this week for his 2 month check up, and we will know percentiles. Here is a video... Pearson playing on his changing pad, which is for some reason one of his favorite places to play. He is talking... I am not sure if the sound came through. I think all you can hear is me, which is embarrassing!

What is he? A parrot?

"Are you a pretty boy?" If you say this to Pearson, he will smile on cue. It is one of his tricks... which is one more than Lolly can perform. (I love you Lolly, but you never have been one for tricks).

So yes... are you a pretty boy, does sound like we are talking to a parrot. It is still cute to see him smile.

Here he is in fact responding to the are you a pretty boy question.

Pearson Christmas morning in Birmingham.... his uncle John gave him a chicks dig me onesie... he better not be attracting any chicks yet.

Pearson had a full and exciting first Christmas! Here are some pictures from our time in Social Circle, Thomson, Appling, Augusta, and Birmingham. Pearson is quite the traveling man.

He was fortunate enough to see 3 out of 4 Great Grandmothers! What a blessing. He saw the other Great Grandmother last weekend.

He received lots of wonderful gifts!

Merry Christmas!

I am losing my protection....

Pearson turned one month old today! Wow! And he is losing his protection as our pastor would say. That is the polite way to say, "I am balding." It is funny how a one month old goes through all the same stages of life as an teenager, a middle aged man, and an elderly person. He has acne, is losing his hair, and has to have his diaper changed.

Oh well, soon enough he will pass through this stage. Sad for those men out there that are stuck without their protection.

Enjoy this pic... he is fully clothed. I with poor judgement posted the oh so cute pic of him in the bath tub. For those of you who didn't see it, I can email it to you.
